Moldavites and other tektites – their geological setting, occurrence, geochemistry, processes involved in their formation and later deposition, sedimentology and basin analysis of tektite-bearing sediments and areas of distribution; impact glasses – their distribution, chemical composition and formation; impact process in general.

Date and place of the conference:
     The conference takes place September 25th to September 27th, 2009 at the recreational country estate Novy Dvur in the vicinity of Tyn nad Vltavou – Czech Republic.

     Papers will be accepted as oral presentations.
Languages of communication:
     English, Czech, German. All participants are greatly encouraged to present their research in English. Each contribution must have an English summary and English descriptions in tables and graphs.
Participation fee:
    The participation fee is 20,- EURO and covers the costs assciated with the renting of the conference site and the cost of transportation to moldavite’s location and sand pit by Chlum u sv. Jana nad Malší where moldavites occur. We kindly ask you to pay the participation fee no later than June 30th, 2009 to account No:

Friday September 25th, 2009: afternoon or evening arrival, registration and accommodation of participants
Saturday September 26th, 2009: papers and discussions
Sunday September 27th, 2009: excursion to moldavite’s site and sand pit by Chlum u sv. Jana nad Malší where. Organizer will try to open by the trench the locality with the moldavites and surrounding rocks in the primary downfall position. Visit of the museum in Tyn nad Vltavou – featuring the permanent exposition “Southbohemian moldavites”.

Instruction for publication in proceedings:
     Paper abstracts of papers will be published in the conference proceedings in English with a maximum lenght of 4 pages (form A5) including tables, graphs. For all text Arial, 10 points font with single-line spacing, and margins 2,5 cm should be used. See the following example:

All papers will be published in a special issue of the proceedings of the Southbohemian Museum in the year 2010. These contributions must be provided at the time of the “Moldavite conference” at the latest in order to be considered for publishing.
